I am an American who lives in Bristol with my husband (British) and cat (American). My favorite food is chips and I love watching the Great British Bakeoff. When I am not working I enjoy running, walking, and cycling and I am terrified of driving in the UK. My pronouns are she/her.

I spend my day on my computer looking at data returned from spacecraft that have visited different asteroids in the solar system. I look at images and other datasets to understand what the inside of asteroids are like and using programming to explore the physics of asteroids. I have worked with different spacecraft missions including the NASA mission OSIRIS-REx which in October used a robotic arm to pick up some rocks from the surface of an asteroid called Bennu!

My Typical Day:
I get up and go for a run most mornings and then settle down at my desk to work on my computer. I can not travel to the asteroids I studying so I use spacecraft and the pictures are sent through space to eventually end up on my computer.

I like to wake up early and sneak out of my flat, being very quiet so I do not wake up my husband and cat and go out for a run. Now that it is winter I have to wear a headtorch so I see where I am going!
After breakfast and a shower, I sit down at my desk at 9 am and start to work. I spend my day answering e-mails, attending zoom meetings with colleagues in the UK and America and studying asteroids as well! I love the programming aspect of my research as it involves solving puzzles and at the end you get pretty plots and maps!
At the end of the day, I cook dinner with my husband and curl up with our cat to relax before going to bed.
